Hello Peter,

I understand each calendar year element comes with heavenly stem and earthly branch, e.g this year heavenly stem is metal and earthly branch is wood, so what is the actual year element? wood or metal ? For instance if metal is good for me but wood is not does that mean the first six months is good and the rest is not so good?

Thanks

Jv.

Some use the stem as the element some use branch. But no matter which one you use, always see the stem and branch as one not seperating them. You have to see the interaction between the two, which one is stronger and which one is weaker.  For example if the stem is Fire and the branch is Water and both are equally strong, fire clash with water, if you BaZi chart  have Wood then you can avoid the clash. Therefore,  it does not means any first and second six months. Must see them as one.

Cheer. Peter.
