Hi Master Peter, Should we follow Lunar Calendar or Western Calendar for Spring Equinox (first day of spring) in USA? USA's first day of spring is one day earlier than Asia which used Lunar Calendar? Thanks, Bliss

Hi Master Peter, Thanks for your answer. But,
I still have a bit confusion which calendar should I follow in the USA
regarding to spring equinox, summer solstice, autumn equinox, or winter
solstice. Last year;s winter solstice, first day of winter in
Western calendar (in USA) was 12/21/2023 but in it was 12/22/2023 in
Lunar calendar (Asia). You advised to use 12/21/2023 for USA residents. This
year both autumn equinox and winter solstice is the same date in
Western and Lunar calendar. So, there shouldn't be any confusion which
date to follow. But, spring equinox is 3/19/24 in Western calendar while
3/20/24 in Lunar calendar. Why do you advise to use Lunar calendar for
spring equinox? Does residents in America only need to follow winter
solstice based on western calendar? The other three days - spring
equinox, summer solstice, and autumn equinox can just follow Lunar
calendar. Please clarify. Thanks, Bliss

Actually in order to be precise some calculation need to be carried out. In general closer is to use lunar dates. But sometimes we use western for example used 12/21/2023 after some calculations for US residents. Cheers.

Hi Master Peter, Thank you for your reply. I learned something new today. I thought we need follow Lunar Calendar for spring equinox, summer solstice, autumn equinox, and winter solstice. That means each year these 4 days won't be necessary same as Lunar Calendar in America. However, we don't know how to calculate like professional masters. Basically, we can use the day in Lunar Calendar if the date is same as Western calendar. Otherwise, we need to calculate. Just want to clarify with you about the first day of spring. Is the first day of spring in Western calendar same meaning as Spring Equinox in Lunar? And, the first day of Autumn is Autumn Equinox in Lunar? Thanks, Bliss

The Beginning of Spring is Li Chun and Spring Equinox is Chunfen. We calculate as we need the exact time. Cheers.
