Lights
There are many saying about the number of lights that should be fixed in a house. The number should be odd or even?
Some said according to 9 flying stars auspicious and inauspicious self ie. 1 will make you flirting, 2 make you sick, 3 dispute,
4 academic excellence, 5 very sick, 6 power, 7 robbery, 8 wealth and 9 celebration and the says go on.
I was asked once by my friend, should he count in all those lights that were spoiled,
must change all those were spoiled and checking them out each day.
In more than 3000 Sqft house this is going to be
very hectic process and Feng Shui is suppose to help people and not making life difficult.
Asian prefer their house to be more brightier and Eastern people
prefer it be dimmer. Therefore, the number of lights installed is basically very individual and will not bring any severe effects.
However, one must remember the following.
1. Home entrances must have light.
2. Long corridors must have light.
3. Should not have 3 similar lights shining at the same place at the same time. Chinese used to offer 3 incenses during prayers to the dead.
4. In modern offices, overhead lights which fitted in some kind of mirror like boxes and some even with sharp edges. If someone is
sitting directly underneath, afetr a while he will start losing his concetration, or worse he will get sick easily.
5. Avoid claw shape lights and any shape that have the pressing down affect. When you sit or sleep under such features for more than 3 hours a day,
it presses down on your luck and impart negatively on your health.
6. The best shape will be those of mushroom shape attached to the ceiling. This allows qi to flow smoothly.
Some feng shui master said that we should not have light above our bed since it will looks like what in an "operation room".
Don't worry, this is just their imagination.
