facing direction to determine house flying stars

train hoho2 30/6/2009
Dear Master Peter,

The houses in the North America usually come with a garage either attached to upfront or the side of the house. My garage is on the side of my house. The garage door is 2 feet next to the front door on the same wall.  The front door is on the South East sector and the garage door is on the East sector. When we go in and out of the house, we have to go through the side door on the living room (SE sector) to the garage and then drive car in and out of the garage. We can't use the front door to go in and out but use it occassionally when we pick up the mail. We probably use it once a day. The garage door is used twice a day when we go to work and come back.  I use where front door is facing as facing direction for my house (which is SE) even though we don't use it more often than the garage door. In my situation, would you please advise if SE should be our facing direction or if where the garage door facing (it should face East, I have to double check) should be our facing direction? How about the side door from living room to the garage (facing North East), it is not the direct way in and out of the house but it is where the qi may come staight to the house once the garage door is opened. However, we usually close the side door once we get in the garage. If the garage door is opened, the side door is locked and closed already. So I wonder if the qi can still come in?

When we measure the direction, should we stand in the middle of entrance or anywhere the entrance is?

Thanks and best regards,

Hi Master Peter,

When we make sure the facing direction, we need to measure the degree of the direction. How do we measure?
I read a book which is suggested to stand in the center of the facing of building or structure, with back on the building or structure and looking out, and then use compass to measure the degree. Is that correct?
From your website, it is only mentioned to stand inside the house facing out at the main door. Does we stand in anyplace inside of the house or in the center of inside of the house?

Thanks and best regards,

stand inside the door facing out directly in front of your main door. first one feet then 3. For newly completed houses you might need to go out to the road, stand facing the main door and the opposite bearing is the facing direction. I always say is the hardest to find the facing direction.

Dear Master Peter,

Thanks for your reply.
It is true. It is hard to find out the correction facing direction of a house.
Based on your reply, I still have the follow questions. Please clarify for me.
1. What do you meant "first one fee then 3" after we stand in front of main door?
2. According to my house conditions with two entrances being used (front door and garage door/side door)  , which should I use as facing direction?

Best Regards,

You have to decide which door you use more often.

Dear Master Peter,

We use the garage door more often (than front entrance) for in and out. However, from main house to garage door, we have to use the "side door" in living room to the garage. Do I use garage door or side door as facing direction?

Thanks and best regards,
