Hi Peter, I would like to know the importance of structural useful god versus the regulating useful god? Which one would be more important esp if they contradict each other? For e.g., nature's way says yi wood likes bing fire and gui water, but if it is a DO structure and bing fire clashes with DO which useful god would be more important? Thank you! Cheers, Alicia

Useful god 用神 is always important. But the way you find them is not correct. The second important step is 定格为先 - 2. define the structure. Yi wood, 丙 Bing fire is Output 伤Shang, 癸Gui water is resource 印, first under 定格为先 you must to decide if Bing or Gui is your favorable 喜神. If you are strong Yi wood, 丙 Bing fire is Output 伤 Shang is your favorable 喜神 and DO is also your favorable 喜神 but the useful god is your 戊己 Wu and Ji, direct and indirect wealth 财才. In DO structure, when Bing fire have the tendency to clash with DO which is not good even both are favorable, this is when wealth 财才 are the most useful 喜用神. It can be bad if both fire and metal are equally strong and without earth. Cheers. |
