              How do you determine whether the stars in your bazi are favourable or unfavourable? Does it mean if you have good stars in your bazi, you will prosper and do well?

I assumed you meant Ten Gods 十神. And they are not symbolic stars as they belong to the 5 elements. Symbolic stars are ShenSha 神杀 and they are not accurate.

For Ten Gods 十神  and for weak day master,

Bi-jian Friend
Jie-cai Rob Wealth

and
Pian-yin Indirect Resource
Zheng-yin Direct Resource

are favorable. This is based on stars or Ten Gods alone without looking at the clashes, interaction with others Ten Gods 十神 and etc.

By having good stars or Ten Gods does not guarantee that you will prosper. You also need to see others conditions like clashes etc. Very often see good stars but bad.

     I was actually referring to Shen Sha as Symbolic Stars, like the Academic Star, Travelling Horse Star, Prosperity Star, General Star, etc, etc. Some bazi schools will tell you that there are these favorable and unfavorable stars in your bazi. According to you then, these stars are not accurate? Hope you can clarify.

Yes they are not accurate. Accuracy must be based on statistic. They are just too many that do not fit in.

As an example.

He was born in 20 Aug 1955 with 2 华盖-Star Of Arts but he is a taxi driver his whole life without any talent.
He also has 天德-Heavenly virtue and 月德-Monthly virtue but money is always a problem.

Take another example.

Li Yuchun 李宇春, born March 10, 1984, born in China , Sichuan , the Chinese mainland famous female singers, songwriters, movie actor.
2005 participate in the " Super Girl "music game. She received all the Chinese audience to vote 3,520,008 discloses $ 33 million and eight votes in the finals of the CPC, is considered the most personality of Super Girl , known as the "2005 the strongest voice."
She has 2 文昌-Academic stars but only a high school graduate.
She has no 华盖-Star of Arts but everyone recognize her talent.
Shen Sha never take in the gender. If the BaZi belong to a male, the outcome will be totally different.
If you look at Ten Gods the results are very obvious and you will see where her talent comes from and when she will become famous.
Shen Sha also cannot tell "WHEN".
