My Kua number is 3. My work desk is facing North West, is this a bad direction for me?

Eight Mansion is only a part of Classical Feng Shui. You can't base on this theory alone to confirm NW is the Worst direction.
You need other application and a detailed study of your office layout.
For instance what if you're facing towards the South "Sheng Qi" direction which seems beneficial and auspicious,
but in actual fact, you're located in a bad or worst sector? You must make sure you understand the different between "Location" and "Direction".
