Being wanting to gain some immediate income, I put some money into bonds early 2017. Now, it looks like my money is going down the drain. Any chances of gaining in 2017 or in 2018?

It looks more like your money is gone. You are not going to gain in 2017 or in 2018. Stay away from investments and do not gamble. You like to gamble and this will make you lose a lot of money. Control your temptations for quick buck, your good years are not here yet. Before they come, the more money you put in, the more you are going to lose.
