For example , if in a year whereby the luckiest zodiac is HORSE and the not so lucky zodiac is SNAKE,
will a person in general(not taking the whole bazi) born in SNAKE year with HORSE day branch have a good year ?
 

Is our bazi day branch affected by the yearly zodiac more than our bazi year branch?

For your example you need to see the whole chart since snake combine with horse. In general we take only the year branch and once you consider other branches you will need to see the entire chart.
