The Punishment relationship is one of the more complex relationships between the earthly branches that can be found in our BaZi Four Pillar of Destiny. Punishment “Xing” 刑 normally involve relationship and most of the time are psychological rather than physical. It relates to how people feel about their lives, the personality or behavior of that particular person. People with punishment in their BaZi Four Pillars of Destiny normally feel unhappy, never satisfied; happiness normally never lasts long for them and even when they are in their good mood, they will try to find something to make themselves feel unhappy about.
The impact of Punishment and the duration of effect depends on whether it is internal or external punishment meaning that the BaZi Punishment code occurs in their BaZi itself or result of the luck Pillar Ta Yun or the yearly or annually pillar which creates a punishment relationship with the branches in their BaZi chart.
Dealing with punishments in many occasions is not difficult. Punishments are Cause and Effect situations. It is often a matter of either taking the right action or reaction when responding to certain situations and recognizing the area of the problem and developing a strong self-discipline. This need some time to practice and make it to become a habit. Once the type of punishment has been identified and the area of relationship has been found, dealing with the situation is not difficult.
If the Punishment involves your unfavorable stars or elements, the problems would be much more challenging and require much more effort to manage.
When comes to Punishments, the solutions are not difficult to find and it is often, people find it difficult to make their changes in their behaviors. For example many lifelong smoker they know what to do but they just may not want to do it! It is very important to have the mental fortitude and support to do what to it takes to overcome the situation and not allow the Punishment code to dictate the situation.
Now let take an example.

1. She has what we called “Ungrateful Punishment 無恩之刑”. As the name implies, this type of Punishment involves a “lack of gratitude”.
2. She has TWO full “Ungrateful Punishment 無恩之刑” in her BaZi chart.
3. She is a successful business woman but she has to work very hard and everyday she works at least 12 hours at her factory. She is running a cloth manufacturing factory.
4. She always whining about how come no one cares and no one wants to help her in her business.
5. She has a bad marriage. Her relationship with her husband is bad and this effects her relationship with her children.
This “Ungrateful Punishment 無恩之刑” makes people prone to betrayal although it is not always the case where they themselves should be blamed. In certain special conditions, this formation can make a person volatile and aggressive. Ungrateful punishments are usually not good for family ties. Depending on the palaces and the ten gods which the formation effects, it usually weakens the affinity with their relative.
