Pony Ma Huateng, 马化腾, is the Founder and CEO of Tencent Inc. He is a Chinese business magnate, investor, philanthropist, engineer, internet and technology entrepreneur. He is the founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Tencent, Asia's most valuable company, one of the largest Internet and technology companies, and the biggest investment, gaming and entertainment conglomerates in the world. The company controls China’s biggest mobile instant messaging service and its subsidiaries provide media, entertainment, payment systems, smartphones, internet-related services, value-added services and online advertising services, both in China and globally.

As the founder and CEO of Tencent, China's largest instant messaging company, Pony Ma always smiles, but more like a shy fresh graduate, rather than a sophisticated and charismatic leader. That presents a sharp contrast to his aggressive counterparts such as Charles Zhang from Sohu.com Inc or Jack Ma from Alibaba Group who aren't shy about reminding people of their unique existence. How is this reflected in his BaZi.

Ma’s first job was with China Motion Telecom Development, a supplier of telecommunications services and products, where he was in charge of developing software for pagers. He reportedly earned $176 per month. He also worked for Shenzhen Runxun Communications Co. Ltd. in the research and development department for Internet calling services. In 1998, Pony Ma quit his first employer, Runxun Communications, a telecom service company and established his own company in Shenzhen with his five classmates doing a paging business for domestic telecom operators.

1998 - Along with four other classmates, Pony Ma Huateng went on to co-found Tencent in 1998. The company’s first product came after Pony Ma participated in a presentation for ICQ, the world’s first Internet instant messaging service, founded in 1996 by an Israeli company.
--->1998 was a good year.

1999 - Pony Ma and his team launched in February 1999 a similar ICQ software, with a Chinese interface and a slightly different name – OICQ (or, Open ICQ). The product quickly became popular and garnered more than a million registered users by the end of 1999, making it one of the largest such services in China.

After AOL (America Online) bought ICQ in 1998, the company filed a lawsuit against Tencent with the National Arbitration Forum in the United States, claiming that QICQ’s domain names QICQ.com and QICQ.net were in violation of ICQ’s intellectual property rights. Tencent lost and had to shut down the websites.
--->1999 was a mixed year with obstacles but manage to survive.

2000 - In December 2000, in order to stave off other costly lawsuit, Pony Ma changed the name of the software to QQ (with "Q" and "QQ" used to stand for the word "cute"). He managed to raise millions to stay afloat.
--->2000 was a good year and 2000 was his turning point.

2004 - In 2004, Tencent launched an online gaming platform and started selling virtual goods to support the games published on that platform (weapons, gaming power), as well as emoticons and ringtones. By 2004, Tencent became the largest Chinese instant messaging service (holding 74% of the market), prompting Pony Ma to list the company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
--->2004 was a very good year that made him very rich.

Tencent has not only survived but also grandly prospered during the past ten years. By the third quarter of last year, active user numbers of QQ, Tencent's flagship instant messaging software, reached 350 million, 50 million more than the entire population in the United States.

Pony Ma boasts a range of rankings and achievements, with Time Magazine naming him one of the world’s most influential people in 2007 and 2014. In March 2016, Forbes published that he is the 39th richest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of US$19.4 billion. Despite such astronomical wealth, in July this year he transferred 100 million shares of Tencent (worth approximately $2 billion) to his charitable foundation. In addition, he has received many honours such as “Young Global Leader”, “25 Most Powerful Business People In Asia”, and one of the “30 World’s Best CEOs”. As at July 2018, his estimated net worth stands at US$42.4 billion up from $25 billion this time last year.

Now there are a few versions of his BaZi and one of them is shown below.

“2019

Let us go through this BaZi to see if this really his BaZi Four pillars chart.

When weak 丁 Ding fire master, he would need wood and wood 印卩 will be his useful ten gods 喜用神. By just looking at his TaYun with wood reveal, this look correct.

Now let’s take a closer look at the years to further evaluate this chart with the actual facts.

1998 was his good year. Pony Ma Huateng went on to co-found Tencent in 1998. But with strong earth and metal suppress wood, if wood 印卩 are his useful Ten Gods, and when wood 印卩 were hurt, this would have be a failure year for him.

1999 was a mixed year with obstacles but manage to survive. With 甲 wood being combined, and strong earth and metal suppress wood, wood was injured and Tencent would have failed.

2000 was a good year and 2000 was his turning point. He managed to raise millions to save his company Tencent. With even stronger metal would have seriously injured his useful Ten Gods 印卩and if this is his BaZi, Tencent would not have survived 2000. The wealth with this chart is also weak.

2004 was a very good year that made him very rich. . Tencent was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Again looking at his 2004, a much stronger metal would have seriously wounded his useful Ten Gods 印卩. If this is his BaZi chart, he would have been poor.

After matching to his actual ups and downs, I am very sure this is not his BaZi Four pillars of destiny. He was born on October 29, 1971 which there is no doubt. But this hour of birth is wrong.

To all my students, try to pinpoint the actual hour of birth. Now it is time to test your skills. Take a closer look at 2000 and 2004, with a look, you should be able to find the answer. There is only one hour pillar that match Pony Ma Huateng, 马化腾, Founder and CEO of Tencent.
