Can you please explain in the decade luck of bai zi chart, if the top character or element is not favourable but the bottom element is good, does that mean the first five years are not smooth and the other five years will be better?

I know some teaches what you mentioned. But it is definitely not true.  On many occasions, during the 10 years many experience good luck regardless the first 5 or later  5 years.

You  have to use at least  the 12 characters ( 8 from the original chart + 2 from the decade + 2 from the year) to confirm you luck. In many occasion, you will need another 4 characters ( 2 from the month + 2 from the day). You will have to see all these as in one whole picture.
