House model - tri-level (Feng Shui)

train hoho2 14/9/2010
Dear Master Peter,

I would like to ask if we should consider the type of house (like one story, two-story, tri-level, etc.) in terms of feng shui when we buy a house. I would like to know what do you think about tri-level house? A tri-level house here is a two-story house but has a half floor in between ground level and 2nd floor. That middle half floor is half floor to the ground level (1st floor) and half floor to the 2nd floor.
It is not a 3-story or 2 story with basement. The ground level is a full floor to the 2nd floor. Hopefully, my description is easy understanding.

Please advise. Thank you.

In general, this type of houses is not recommended especially if standing alone.  However. We cannot just based on this information alone to determine a how good or bad a house is.

Dear Master Peter,

Thanks for your reply. I have other extending questions as following:

1. When you said standing alone, do you mean that the middle floor is hanging on in the middle without support?

2. I might not describe very well. I can try again. I will lay it as clear as I can  as following. In addition, I sent you a picture of tril-level house and a draft to support@skillon.com for your reference. It can help understanding how it looks like.
The house's structure is like having two buildings and being glued together next to each other, therefore, the house has two parts and two entries. The left part of the house is at ground level with a garage first at upfront and a family room is connected with this garage ( behind it). The right part of the house has front entry upfront and kitchen/living behind the entry door. This right part of the house is  what I called a middle floor which is raised up from ground level. The base is raised up as half floor to the ground level garage and half floor to the 2nd floor. There are stairs in the middle of whole house (in between these two pars) so the stairs connects ground level family room to the kitchen/living room level and then connects from here to go up to the 2nd floor.

Is it ok to live? Please comment.

3. Why is it not recommended for tri-level house in terms of fs?

Best regards,

By looking at your photograph, it is perfectly fine to live in those houses. It is different from what you have initially told me.

However, you still need to apply the feng shui theory in order to determine it auspiciousness, for eg. it direction, age, layout , external environment and so on. Cheers :)

Hi Master Peter,

We really love this kind of tri-level house. With your confirmation, we can take consideration. Thanks.
A graphic of the house is better understanding than words.

Regarding the external environment, do you think the front yard looks ok. For the front entry is raised up, the front lawn looks like a slope. However it is not that steep, I personally feel it is fine. What do you think?
